Nordic skis and snowshoes

These require different equipment from downhill skiing. Check Badger Pass cross-country and back-country information or Granlibakken’s winter recreation and rental information for the relevant options and operating dates.

Before you reserve

  • Check every inclusion: skis or board, boots, poles for skiing and helmet. Clothing, goggles, lift tickets and lessons may be separate.
  • Match the equipment: standard versus performance or demo; adult versus child sizing. Tell the fitter your ability and fit concerns.
  • Choose pickup carefully: match the shop to your mountain entrance and lesson meeting point. Allow time for fitting, parking and transport.
  • Compare the full cost: rental duration, taxes, damage protection, late returns and cancellation terms.
  • Confirm the return: ask about overnight storage, multi-day use and whether equipment must go back to the original shop.
  • Recheck operation: snow, weather, roads and seasonal shop hours can change your plan.

Frequently asked questions

Should I rent in town or at the resort?

Compare convenience, pickup hours and the trip between your lodging and the slopes. A resort pickup can simplify lessons; a town pickup may let you fit equipment the evening before. Confirm that service rather than assuming it is offered.

Does renting equipment include a lift ticket?

Only when the selected product explicitly includes it. Review ticket, lesson and rental inclusions individually.

Can I reserve for children?

Check the provider’s age and size limits and reserve suitable equipment. A child’s lift-ticket eligibility does not automatically include rentals.
