Plan a June Mountain family ski trip
Family planning details checked October 27, 2026. June Mountain lists December 19, 2026 as its planned opening day, weather and conditions permitting. Recheck operations before committing to a ski-dependent stay.
- Arrange passes before heading uphill. Children 12 and under ski and ride free, but still need their child season pass. You can set up the $0 pass online beforehand to speed pickup; eligible children can also have one issued at the Ticket Office on arrival. See the official child-pass instructions. Budget for equipment and lessons separately.
- Leave time for the full morning sequence. Start at the lower Ticket Office for passes, tickets and lesson vouchers, then ride Chair J1 to the Chalet. June’s first-timer guide recommends arriving 90 minutes before a scheduled lesson and says advance rental reservations are required. Follow your booking confirmation for your meeting time and place.
- Allow fitting time above J1. The rental shop is on the Chalet’s first floor. The resort recommends reaching the shop at least an hour before skiing or a lesson; ticket pickup and J1 can take up to another 30 minutes. Helmets are required for children in Ski & Snowboard School. Bring winter clothing: it is not available to rent.
- Choose lodging for breakfast and bedtime. If you want to prepare meals, compare the exact unit rather than assuming every room has a kitchen. Double Eagle’s lodging descriptions distinguish resort rooms with a small refrigerator and coffee service from two-bedroom cabins with a full kitchen and one bathroom. Check the bed configuration, winter drive and cancellation terms before booking.
